The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members in the National Assembly on
Monday, May 16 demanded an apology from the All Progressives Congress,
APC administration over the removal of fuel subsidy.
Addressing journalists in Abuja after a caucus meeting, Minority
Leader of the House of Representatives, Leo Ogor said
the removal of the
fuel subsidy at this period has caused the country between 4 to 8
million naira tax payers money.
“We have asked the APC government who kicked against the removal of fuel subsidy of PDP government. They owe us an apology.
“What we should have done four years ago is what they have started
now they have cost this country almost 4 to 8 million naira tax payers
money, “Ogor said.
Also speaking to journalists, the Senate Minority Leader, Godswill
Akpabio said they have agreed to go into the PDP conventions united.
He said a 12 man Committee has been setup to meet with the various
interest group of the party within the next 48 hours to resolve issues.
“I believe strongly that in the next forty eight hours these issues
will be resolved and by thursday friday we will move to Port Harcourt
and you will be impressed that yes indeed the party is back on track so
far both chambers have agreed to resolve these issues amicably.
“We also congratulate the NWC so far for the wonderful congress they
have held so far in various state and we have agreed that those states
where congresses were not held only the statutory delegates will be
allowed to exercise their franchise, “he said.
